Light Housekeeping in Miramar

Not a cleaning service. The kitchen, the bathroom, the laundry and the floors you walk on, kept in the state that lets somebody go on living here safely.

A bright kitchen with clean worktops

Housework is a safety matter before it is a tidiness one

A kitchen nobody is keeping on top of stops being a question of tidiness. It is spoiled food, a hob left on, a floor that is now slippery and a bin that nobody can lift. The same is true of a bathroom and of a floor with things on it.

It is also the clearest early signal there is. A house kept immaculate for forty years that is suddenly only mostly kept says more about what is happening than any conversation on the telephone will.

So the housekeeping gets done, and what the state of the house suggests gets written down. Both halves matter.

Housekeeping is done inside the visit rather than as a separate booking. An aide with an hour in the house does the kitchen and the bathroom while the kettle is on, not as a distinct job with its own hour attached.

Where a house has got badly behind, that is a one-off clean by a cleaning firm, and we will say so rather than charge care rates for it.

What gets done

Inside the visit, alongside everything else, not as a separate clean.

Kitchen kept usable

Washing up, surfaces, hob and the fridge gone through for things past their date.

Bathroom kept safe

Cleaned, floor dried, and the mat and rails checked while there.

Laundry and bed linen

A load run, folded and put away, and the bed changed on a regular turn.

Floors where people walk

Hall, kitchen and bathroom. Clear and dry matters more than spotless.

Bins, post and paperwork

Emptied, brought in and stacked somewhere findable rather than growing on a table.

The state of it noted

A house slipping is often the first visible sign, and it is recorded as one.

What this is not

  • Deep or spring cleaning
  • Windows, gutters or anything outside the house
  • Moving heavy furniture or appliances
  • Clearing hoarded rooms or long-accumulated storage
  • Garden or yard work
  • Any cleaning that requires ladders or protective equipment

Often the first hour a family buys

It is easy to accept, visibly useful, and it puts somebody sensible in the house every week.
